Description


A silver metal and epoxied device 1 1/8(3.18cm) in diameter, below a silver cross and centered on a maroon octagon ared Torii surmounted by a gold caduceus, all within a circular silver scroll inscribed SERVING WITH CARE on the lower portion in maroon.


Symbolism

The color maroon is traditionally associated with Dental Health Activities. The silver cross symbolizes excellence in health care. The eight points of the octagon represent the eight points of the compass and is symbolic of peace and security. The Torii is a sacred Japanese symbol and marks the location of the unit. The caduceus is traditionally associated with US Army medical units and symbolizes healing.

Background

DENTAC Japan's DUI was canceled Sep 2016, and re-designated to Dental Health Activity Japan. DHA Japan's DUI was approved 19 Aug 2017
